Hello,

I am playing Ark on a Linux machine. My issue starts with me wanting to disable to music on the main menu. Sitting there with it repeating while loading a game is annoying. Then there are other issues that cause me to have to reload the game... w/e

When I set the music lower, it doesn't change the volume of the main menu music. There is no button to disable the main menu music in the option.

When I set the music to 0 (aka mute) it disables the sound for EVERYTHING in the game.

inb4: You're using the master slider

No, I checked, it is not the master volume slider. It is the music slider.

So... um... I need a dev to either include the "disable main menu music" option that already exists in "Survival of the fittest" (And it works there for me) or I need a fix for this music volume slider.

If anyone else has a fix, let me know.

Ah, so others have this problem. Sometimes I wonder if there will ever be an "official release" so they can't push the Linux bug timetable back anymore.

Yes, the sound sliders are bugged for the Linux version. What you can do, however, is rename the music files. Search for .ogg in the game folder, rename them. Updates occasionally put them back, but not all that often. With the renamed ogg files, no music is played, regardless of sound slider settings.

I'm ok with having music, but it plays so loud that I can never hear anyone speak in the middle of a fight. Then there's the matter of how loud ambient machine sounds can be. If I suddenly mute the game, my ears have a slight ringing from the constant droning.

Instead of necroing a thread, why not use the toggle able button that turns off main menu musoc

Because the thread is still relevant and I've never been talking about main menu music (nor does this button work anyway...)

Uhh yes it does. I have no music in the main menu

What OS are you running?

Ubuntu 18.04
In ARK..
All sound plays only threw the MUSIC VOLUME..

The SFX, VOICE and AMBIENT Volume all plays in one channel.

my sound card (Realtek ALC887)
