Best way to improve load times is to put the game on an ssd. Its truly the difference between night and day. If you really want to optimize that, then put it on a pcie ssd versus a sata one(though its not necessarily that dramatic between the two)
Multiplayer is less intense because the server is doing a lot of the work
Whereas in SP your PC is acting as a server AND a client at the same time, so more resources are used.
If it takes ANYONE 30-50mins to load, your PC sucks or you have a lot of crap running in the background sucking up resources. It should NOT take that long. It NEVER took me that long when i had ARK on my HDD, so its definitely an issue on your end
Atm ark just shreds ram.
Also, more mods equate to longer load times without an ssd which is super super bad on single player if you load those mods in on it. My previous comp before I gont a new one this month had ark on an hdd and the sp with 5 mods only would take a solid 10min+ to load. Servers were 5-10 with 15-30 mods.
Since I got my ssd its almost no load time really now.
Ive had no issues at all with 16GB, and unlike some people ive never encountered a memory leak.
