How do you download ASM?
When I click the latest.zip, it brings me to a very long link that does not work. I have tried manually editing it to match the version number... But every time I do I end up with that same bugged link. Can anyone explain what is going on? I am used to modding yet if the site was malicious my antivirus would have popped up and told me I should not ♥♥♥♥ with that link.

Any help would be appreciated...

I tried the link on their site... It doesn't work. I am not in way messing up something so basic.
"Latest Ark Server Manager is 1.0.252

Installers

Windows Setup: Latest.zip (Preferred) - Download, unzip and run Ark Server Manager.exe.

Previous versions:

You can download older versions of the ASM (back to 1.0.0.125) by making a link to arkservermanager.s3.amazonaws.com/release/ArkServerManager_<version>.zip."
I click the latest.zip(preferred) and it brings me to a peculiar link( http://redirect.viglink.com/?key=bbb516d91daee20498798694a42dd559&u=https%3A/arkservermanager.s3.amazonaws.com/release/latest.zip ) and gives me the error
"Hmm, we can't reach this page.
Try this
Make sure you’ve got the right web address: http://redirect.viglink.com
Refresh the page
Search for what you want"
I am using Microsoft Edge but get equally unapealing results with Google Chrome:
"This site can’t be reached

redirect.viglink.com’s server DNS address could not be found.
DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN"

OK it seems that it downloaded with Google Chrome(still not familiarised with the app) but not Microsoft edge... Thanks anyways, hopefully it is not an incomplete download.

Try this instead: https://arkservermanager.s3.amazonaws.com/release/latest.zip
It's the second address in that redirect link string you posted. ^_^

Also, try not to use Edge too much. It's not a very good browser.
Try Firefox or Chromium/Chrome or Vivaldi or one of the many other alternatives instead.

better not to. ASM has a large delay between major patches, during which your server will not function properly.

Not using ASM to manage my server, only to make .ini settings. Will uninstall when done with it. Either way, the server will be hosted remotely with HostHavoc.

I asked the authors about asm for remote servers. They said that (like you are) you can still use it to make your .ini files but you can also use more of its features if you run a virtual desktop. I havent had a chance to experiment with that to find out how it works.

Make sure you keep backups on your own system of you .ini's (wich you probably do... im just sayin) :)

Also i use filezilla to edit server files. Hosthavoc doesnt let you edit the default.ini's on the control panel so you have to download them edit and upload (after deleting the original)

WRONG! Servers continue to run just fine as long as you don't change the configuration. I've always run servers even a month behind on ASM patches. All ASM does is just provide a GUI clickable front end for the configuration and start-stop the server, that's all. It doesn't really matter how in or out of date it is. All servers managed by it will continue working even if it's not current.
