Argentavis (Argy) Trap: 2018
Been away for several months. Came back and lured a wild Argent into my well-used Argy trap, and he immediately escaped! I'm guessing something is new in the game.

My trap is basically a small room with a 1 tile of ceiling left open. I fly my pteranodon in with the Argy chasing, then fly the small ptera out, leaving the Argy trapped (once I close the door). But now it looks like Argys can fly through 1-tile holes.

Any thoughts? Have to do it on foot now and run through a door maybe?

You can fly a pteranadon through a door fram as long as it's three walls high.

I managed to trap the argy in my usual trap using a pteranodon. I patched the hole in the ceiling, but I left a single wall section missing, up next to the ceiling. I was able to fly the pteranodon through the hole by first angling toward the sky, then angling down toward the ground. Either Argents can't fit through wall holes or I got lucky with a dumb AI. I'll try later with my argent to see if he fits through.

my question is why are you taming an argy? Wyverns are just as easily accessed on rag with some extra building to cut the parents off at the underground pass and pteras are honestly better pvp dinos if that the intended purpose

Because I'm not on the rag.

Your 2nd version of the trap is the design I typically use, never tried leaving a ceiling tile off, I just go up 3 doorframes on all sides, 1 side only is 4 doorframes up so I can put a ceiling on. Never had an argy escape that design and used it on griffin too.

My original argy taming pen was one missing ceiling tile. It didn't work when I started a fresh game. I am guessing the TLC most have changed the collision hit box.

I will have to try Cobretti's design.
