Gigas arent spawning in fjordur
I've searched the entire map and no gigas. Is this some bug or what?

There are only a few areas they spawn. Try just south of the redwoods. There’s a big flat area inland that spawns them

Thanks! I'll check that in a bit

For me the Gigas on Fjordur are broke AF Totally untamable. The methods with bear traps and metal gates don't work. they ignore it and walk right through. The trapping them in the trench method doesn't work they simply work their way along it until they go up the ramp and out. but that's not the worst! No matter how many arrows or darts they get hit with the torpor never moves! Now we're talking ascendant weapons with over 400% damage. After spending about 3 hrs sitting on a cliff dumping over 200+ tranq arrows and over 200 shocking darts into it and having no effect. I went screw it and force tamed it. I figured I'd earned it at that point. Take note everything else I've come across has been tamable by either trapping, tranqing , or passive tame. No issues. They are rockwell gigas but that shouldn't be an issue.

I've heard that gigas share spawns with brontos, so ive been clearing out all large creatures in the cliff/plains biome south of redwoods. When I first started there were two gigas on volcano island, but none since. Only see them south of redwoods now.

Yeah I still have not found any gigas yet. So what I need to do is clear out any large creatures where gigas spawn in?

A dino wipe might fix it.

If you have hibernation enabled (Its on by default in single player/non-dedicated) it DRASTICALLY reduces your odds of running into a giga/titansaur/quetz in my personal experience.

Otherwise its just kill everything in giga spawn areas and hope one spawns, and hope the giga isn't stuck somewhere you can't see it.

Giga's only spawn in 3 areas on Fjordur. Sometimes in 2 of the areas, sometimes only one of the areas. I have never seen all 3 areas have Giga's at the same time. Standard and R-Giga's spawn at all 3 areas.

79-81 on the Red Obelisk Island
46-93 by the East Shore
19-66 West of the Redwoods

Doing a DestroyWildDinos command might help
Good luck

This is true, Gigas and such are rare spawning creatures so that small chance to spawn turns into an even lower chance since they have to spawn as you enter the area on SP.

Disabling hibernation was one of the best changes I ever did for my ark experience. It stops areas from being totally dead of life. Sadly, it has the side effect of causing jelly fish to often spawn above water and they instant die, which creates an eye sore.

This is absolutely amazing! The area my base is in was completely dead. Disabling hibernation spawned in like 50 creatures around my base and I was able to find a ton of gigas. Thanks!

Not too sure how true that is. I’ve killed dozens and dozen of brontos and rarely see Gigas spawn in most places.

I’m having a different problem if anyone can help. Gigas and carch spawn, but they despawn almost immediately. In my experience on every server I’ve played on Dino’s stay for like a week in real life time. Unless killed or wiped. So not sure what’s happening as every other Dino stays for days, but the moment I finally find a giga or carch, I get ready to trap it and it just disappears, and I’m left waiting for another to spawn? On fjordur I’ve only ever encountered this, I get it’s a rare spawn, but it disappears right away too, something isn’t right.

Gigas on Fjordur definitely share spawns with the carcharodontosaurus, and HK308 is correct on the spawn locations i think.
