you sure can, tamed two last night. try over the west just before the snow, heading inland towards redwoods. also around the redwoods some spawn too.

check near red ob, i regularly see them there. also in redwood but more rare

Any forested area has some most of the time. Green ob tends to have them in its surrounding woods quite often.
