How do you kill the Lava Golem?

I've watched a few videos and I see people use ascendant armour and weapons that take weeks to get (since you have to get lucky in drops).

So far the best method I have seen is grappling to the ceiling, shooting rockets down on it and using a shield every time it throws a rock; does this method still work?

What kind of gear would I need to defeat it?

Shoot it till it dies

Basically if you can all grapple to the ceiling, and relieve yourself number 1 onto it, it will kill it.
