What is the best Map to play on?
Have played The Island & The Center. Never played Ragnarok.

I've only really played on The Island, Ragnarok, and Aberration. I prefer Aberration above The Island for sure, but absolutely prefer Ragnarok above all. It's easily navigable, has the most diverse environment, and is quite beautiful. Not to mention it's much more livable than Aberration.

Ragnarok is the best map with lot of difference. Devs do a good job with their maps but Ragnarok is superb.

The island is great if you want different biomes but less of a time sink to travel around.

Aberration is amazing in my opinion, lots of places to explore. But the amount of creatures you can tame for such a big map is terrible. You'll get bored quick if your in it for the animals. But I think they've added a couple since I've played that map.

The center is buggy. And honesty my least favorite. But if you can get over the bugs, it's a great map for flying mounts.

Ragnarok is probably the most beautiful map yet. Every biome and all the creatures from normal, scorched earth, and the mighty griffin. But it's HUGE! Expect travel time to be a pain.

Scorched earth is pretty fun if your looking for a fast and dangerous map. But you'll lose interest quickly as there are not a lot of creatures to tame and the map is rather small.

i still like Valhalla - it's old now, but seems to still have just about everything somewhere. And it just looks natural in a way that most mod maps don't.

Do you get the full story on ragnarok? Haven`t played this in a long time & it didn`t have a story when I played It was still early access.

IDK if Rag has dossiers, Explorer notes, or anything because it isn't part of the story like Ab, SE, and TI But if you are looking for a easy place where you can harvest wild Savoroot, rockcarrot, and other Seed-only veggies and have the wild life of both SE and TI wondering around then Rag is your best bet. Only animals missing is the Phoenix from SE and Ab animals which can be spawned in (Phoenixes though have to be spawned on SE then transfered from my experiance)

So if you aren't focused on story and would like to just build, harvest, and tame then Rag is the best out of all.

Honestly notsure about story on Rag, I've spent most of my time exploring, taming, breeding, farming, and mostly dying to Allopacks that I didn't see =p

The one that isn't dino capped. Oh wait, they are deleting that one, nevermind.

Ragnarok has toooooooons of land to explore and multiple biomes, so if you’re looking for something you can play for the longest, then I’d suggest that map. If you want a little challenge and some thrills, I’d suggest Aberration. Those are my two favorite maps. (I need friends to play with btw so hmu)
MISFITSWITCH Feb 17, 2018 @ 7:38pm
I have a cluster of all the maps on a server if you want to check them all out. Look for MISFITSWITCH you will find 7 servers. They have been up for 2 years. I keep them update. They are all PVE.

Ragnarok is probably the best map in my opinion just because of it's variety. You have the desert, two Redwood Forest biomes, a very large snow biome inbetween (You will need an otter to prevent hyperthermia, even with loads of fortitude, fur and sometimes Fria Curries don't even help), unique sort of structures around the map both in and out of the water, like the underwater shipwrecks for example which usually have a tonne of black pearls inside them. There are Griffins, Dire Polar Bears, Wyvern Ravine and Wyvern Cave. It's just a really cool map all round. Like a mashup of all the maps expect Abberation obviously, hope this helped :)

Aberration from level 1 sounds risky! But I`m a glutton for punishment haha

Been thinking about getting the season pass for a while now anyway.

Wish I had the money to get the season pass. I have aberration on Xbox, and I sunk the $60 for ark right before it went on sale. Kms. I didn’t even have that $60. It came out of my gas money for college 😩
