Stop the game from teleporting players?
I play with my friend, he hosts non dedicated. We're playing on the island and we were going into caves to get artifacts and it teleported me to him when he left the cave (even though i was right behind him). and when it teleported me, it glitched me under the map causing me to instantly die along with my thyla. we have that grave mod to get your stuff back, the issue is that the game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ deleted all of my items i guess because i was under the map when i died. and because of this i lost my level 1200 tamed thyla, and a 480ish% damage long neck. so if theres any way i can remove this teleport option from the game, that would be amazing. i don't know why the devs would even add in such a retarded thing

.... because a non-dedicated server is Singleplayer - with friends.... everything is tied to the Host.

If you want No tether.... run a Dedicated server and Use it exactly the same... with no tether.

isn't there a way to kill or extend the tether by modifying ini's too?

Yeah but that has zero effect on caves in/out of water etc because they are zone changes... so you still tp to the host.

You can disable it. Run a server that's what Dedicated means. And Servers are not too taxing unless your running a lot of mods. I wouldn't run a server on the same rig even if it can handle it as it will put a lot more wear and tear. Just make it a private server for you and your mate put a pswd on it ;)

even so... if he can run non-dedi for him and a mate... running a dedicated server for the same purpose/player number... wouldnt be any more taxing.

What do you think Single player is? A server still runs, that is what launches and hosts the world. The only difference is single player and non-Ded have the tether to prevent multiple areas from loading into memory and becoming active at once. Dedicated servers do not care how many areas are active and that is what can take more resources, though if there are only two players, it will not take much more resources than a single player or non-dedicated server. But know that every time you play, whether single player or not, you are launching a server and client.

That's a big difference in resource use.
Servers have to process everything going on on the entire map, single-player and non-dedicated just has to process the loaded world tiles around the player.

I wonder why it can't work like local multiplayer on the Xbone X though, that just loads everything separately for each player.

Servers have stasis, so inactive areas aren't running.

Consoles have tether too, even worse cause they cannot extend it.

What is? If the OP had two people playing on a non-dedicated and he converted it to a two player dedicated, that would not be a big difference at all. At most, it would only be an extra area loaded at any time due to stasis. I am not sure what you are trying to get at but two people laying non-dedicated is not going to be much different from two people playing dedicated. Don't believe me, try it for yourself. Setup your resource meters and try it out. You are not really pushing your PC much harder at all.
