Why the ♥♥♥♥ are night vision goggles so expensive?
These things seriously have no right to even be half as expensive as an auto turret.

Right now it is way easier to just alt tab, go to your graphics driver settings, go to color settings, and turn up gamma on your computer than it is to even worry about NVG. And that's for servers with gamma disabled.

If you are on a gamma enabled server, just press tab and type in gamma 3 and you are set.

I cannot honestly see any situation in which it is worth it to get NVG. PVP server, it is much more cost efficient to use video driver gamma settings, PVE just change gamma from the console.

Don't forget about making said useless things prohibitavely expensive. It's like they flop their hands around the num pad when creating values/requirements etc.

One thing to consider, by making things more expensive it limits the number of players that can afford one. If it was cheap and everyone could afford one it would make the advantage of having one (in PvP) nil.

but anyone can just turn up the gamma easily. either in game or with their graphics card control panel

i feel like once they made the giga they got so afraid of ever making something OP and dominating ever again they decided to pre-emptively overnerf everything

also the devs actually want the game to be ruled by alpha tribes, they design the game as if you're playing with friends

Lol there is no advantage bro. In fact making the goggles puts you at a disadvantage because you just spent a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on something you could have gotten for free.

So, along the same lines I could ask: what's the point in clicking mouse button when farming on anky, if you can alt-tab and activate auto clicker!

Also what's the point in cooking meat on The Island, if you can eat raw! (Unless I go to caves or snow biome, i never bother cooking meat)

Probably not everyone even know about gamma adjustment option on PC!

What's the point of making nice roof on pvp server (spending engram points) if square box provides better protection?

And most importantly- what's the point in compass? Lol

There are tips and tricks for many things! Devs just give you wider choice of craftables!

pretty sure the devs just throw things in with minimal consideration for balance (not a dig). once its all in they will do a major balance pass. at least i hope. THe kibble for example seems like they just throw darts at a board with no sense of logical flow.

there is actually literally no point in the compass, everyone knows about gamma, cooked meat is better but it's inconvenient unless you're set up for it

Most of that stuff isn't stupidly overpriced at least. And for the anky, I actually do that lol. I don't alt tab though because my macro will mess up when I do that.

>Probably not everyone even know about gamma adjustment option on PC!

Ah the age old case of the haves and the have-nots.

Useful for about the 2 seconds you spend as a beginner when you don't know the map that well.

Eating raw meat damages you slightly, so in a life or death situation you will probably want cooked meat.
They're actually not expensive at all with Organic Polymer... Seriously.
