Report a translation problem
A random seed is what your computer uses as a starting value for procedural generation. Given the same seed, and the same generation settings, you should always get the same map. Changing the seed changes the map.

Map has TONS of metal all over for great ship-to-ship combat if youre using one of the boat mods.
Think of it as the game going "If I have Turbulence Set to 0.225, then I take [seed] and multiply it by 0.225 and that tells me where to put a mountain" and "If I have snow biome size set to 0.3, I multiply the biome by [seed] to figure out where the biome borders are"
The seed is the starting point for the generation algorithm, to which all of those settings are applied. A seed of 1111111111111 will have a drastically different map than 1111111111112,
