where does it say if a server has data downloads in the server browser?

I can't seem to find out if a server allows you to upload/download survivor data when i'm at the server browser, and I can only find out after waiting 15 minutes to join the server and pressing escape. This is really tedious. Can anyone help me out here?

Most don't. So you are better off finding an advertisement says they do. You are talking about SP to unofficial right?

I'm talking about ANY server that allows downloads at this point. i'm desperate and sick of mucking aeound just to come up with a whole lot of nothing.

I don't care, when I say any server I mean any sever. As long as that server allows me to transmit my data I'm fine.
preferabbly somewhere near north america but I'm just so sick of not being able to save my data in single player

This isn't an option for official servers at all.

Very very few unofficial servers allow this. You might have to search through the server ads.

Are you wanting to upload your stuff to get started playing on a new server?

Or a guarantee you can get your dino off the server if you choose to quit?

all I want is to upload my survivor level so I don't have to grind everytime I start a new game. everytime I start a new map the game completely wipes all my progress and i'm sent back to level one. I haven't heard of the oblelisk allowing you to transfer data to new sessions of single player.
All I want is just to be able to save my level progress.

In SP you can transfer the same character to all the maps. You just have to have the right settings on.

so if go up to the obelism and press transmit data I can then download on any other sessions? and it won't wipe me if I switch maps or create a new survivor?

If you choose to play on high rate unofficial servers, its not a grind. Some known as super boosted servers you can hit 100 and have a base of decent tames in a couple of days, a day, or even hours depending. With unofficial servers its all very relative.

As for single player, yes you can move your character items and some tames between different maps if you so choose.

There are also some unofficial servers that are clusters that do the same thing. And of course official servers have their clusterings as well.

Use battlemetrics website for looking for servers (especially unofficial) since its a better search site than using the in game search.)

Creating a new character always overwrites (aka deletes) the old character. The map data stays intact, just with a new character (owning nothing).

I don't care about items or tamed animals, all I want is to be able to transfer my charecter level.

In SP yeah. But SP is buggy so there always is the chance of a problem.

In SP you have access to admin commands to just give the level back.

Do you have your xp setting low? I don't understand the concern with character level over dinos. Getting levels is easy. Breeding perfect dinos takes time and luck.

part of the reason is i'm paranoid and have had too may bad experiences with losing charecter data. I once lost a level 50 I made on vanilla mode because the game wiped me.

For SP all you need to do is learn to do backups. Your just find a nice unofficial community to join, properly vet the server/cluster.

You could look through the server ads that have a Discord and ask them in Discord.

As others have said tho... data downloads are a very rare thing on unofficial unless done by a prearranged agreement.

But also... if you are not worried about tames... then a boosted server will have you lvld from scratch in next to no time.
