Lowlevelfatalerror Line 201
Hi,

the game is nearly unplayable for me at the moment on The Island, always getting the LowLevelFatalError ( Line 201). I also don't understand the error message and the path it mentions, I don't have any F:\ Drive on my pc.

Newest Graphic Card & Windows Updates installed.
I also uninstalled the game and installed it again. No difference.

Rig:
Intel Core i9 10900k
nVidia RTX 3080 TI
Windows 10 Pro 21H2

Any Ideas?

Did you also DL the free Lost Island map?

Apparently somehow its causing issues for some people, go figure.
Might need a Wildcard fix. Which means waiting. Oof.

Ive DL'd it and mines fine. But these things area always hit or miss

Like I have this apparently RARE bug of the Fishing Net causing massive FPS loss on Genesis map, but its fine on all the other maps.

BWAH x.x

No, I haven't downloaded Lost Island nor I played it yet. Maybe I have to download it to be able to play on THE Island again :steamfacepalm:

seems like the main problem was "Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost"

I already tried the launch option -norhithread
Didn't help me
I reinstalled nVidia Graphics Drivers and downloaded Lost Island DLC map. Have to test it now if the game runs stable

If you did a search, you would know that the d3d issue with Ark(and other UE4 games) is one that has -no- fix and has been around for years. Again, no fix.

You can only do things to help minimize the chances of it occurring.

Primarily that is done by not playing the game beyond the means of your comp.

1. Dont overclock
2. Dont use nvidia geforce in game overlay.
3. Dont use msi afterburner
4. Make sure you have your graphic card driver up to date(very common issue)
5. Make sure you are playing on the graphical settings nvidia suggests for playing ark. However, if you are playing above normal conditions in game(mods, high dino counts, mall sized bases dino lots etc etc) then you may need to consider lowering settings.

6. Don't use broken or abandoned mods.
7. Don't use multiple total conversion mods not meant to work together or multiple dino adding mods from various modders.
8. Dont mod glut.
9. Dont use outdated launch commands.

Lower shadows to low. Helps but does not eliminate crash. Also limit your fps.

thx, I will give it a try
A bid late to the Party.
This is an issue With graphiccards Starring at 2000series.
It only affects the Island and the Center.
It has Something to do with the shadows.
For many ppl setting shadows to Low is the fix
