Kill alphas or other strong dinos.
Stay afk near them, they don't get passive xp if they are in stasis.
Not sure about this one since I do this for -stay at base- dinos. Tame 2 or 3 lystros and put them next to your mortar and pestles (3 narc, sparkpowder, and cp). Pet 1 every time you craft (buff doesn't stack). If your other dinos are close they get exp buff to passive exp.
Just kill what ever Dinos it can handle for now and put the points into his melee and stamina.
You will be able to move on to bigger Dinos very quickly.
You can pick up explorer notes if you play on map with it, gives a decent amount of xp and gives a buff for bonus xp recieved for a while. Stay on dino while picking it up to give both you and dino the buff.
You say you have a lvl 14 ptera. The way leveling works is that you can gain a certain amount of levels on top of the level it was tamed. (max 71 lvl ups, you likely won't gain more than maybe 40-45 most likely because it requires a lot of xp after a while)
If you tame a dino at lvl 14 it will never reach high lvl because the amount of level ups is the same no matter what level the dino was when tamed, so you want to tame high lvl dinos.
Get a bola and tranq arrows and tame a close to max lvl ptera.
Killing passive creatures like dodos.
Harvesting gives exp, note this is not just to corpses but any harvestable item even if they can’t actually gather it, so going through “harvesting” trees on a Petra while it won’t give you wood or thatch will still grant exp.
Also just sitting near by that will slowly gain exp over time, this is great for the first few lvls but to slow for much beyond that.
