Smelter not smelting

I got enough hours in the game to know how a smelter works
Put in metal (2) and get a metal ingot (1).
Use thatch, wood and sparkling powder as fuel.

But now the smelter has been chugging for 30 minutes, with 120 wood and 59 metal... and all I've got are charcoal.

Are there any mods that could be causing this?
(Playing on a server with 17 mods, no one online so I cant ask)

Just to check you don’t have the smelter clipped into anything or sitting in any water do you? If no on both counts I would try placing a second forge near by and see if it works, if the second one has the same issue then I would say it’s a mod issue.

First one was on a ship (prob. a mod)
Then I placed one on the beatch, but maybe it was a bit too close to the water, I dont know. Will check it out tomorrow. Bed time.

Placed the forge far up on land, still wont smelt. :S

Try turning it off and back on again. It worked for me.
