Slow aberration night on sp?
Playing aberration on singleplayer, I noticed that night speed is sped up significantly when the player goes to the surface. Is there any way to stop this from happening? It's getting real frustrating almost burning up after picking up only one drop

There are 3 sliders under the Advanced tab in host settings, down under World Settings. Day Cycle Speed will slow down the entire cycle of day/night by decreasing the slider/value. You could also lower the Night Time Speed slider to increase the length of each night relative to the day.

True, but it looks like the game automatically sets the night cycle speed to a certain value the moment you enter the surface. That's what I'm trying to disable

There is more information on the changing cycles of Aberration in this thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/346110/discussions/0/1620599015863461736/

You're likely just running into bad luck. The day/night cycles alternate on Aberration. Sometimes the days are longer, sometimes the nights are longer, and sometimes they are equal. Be sure to hold H and look at what speed they are passing at before going to the surface. Be sure to wait for it to switch to "10% day 90% night" before heading up. Also be sure to keep an eye on it while you're on the surface.

The most days in a row I've seen the same rate is 3 days, with as little as only half to 1 day at the same rate (it may be more or less, but that's what I've noticed). I'm not sure if these rates are completely random, or if they have set times that they switch at, but it feels like it's completely random.

Edit: It looks like there is more detailed info on the wiki... I probably just was catching things at odd times so it felt random, but the wiki suggests they are set days/times for each: https://ark.gamepedia.com/Seasons

OK so apparently, there are seasons in aberration which affect the speed in which night passes on certain days in the map, which explains the 90%day 10% night thing next to the time. Thank all of you for helping me understand this neat little mechanic.

If you're just here to hate no one cares. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean tens of thousands of people don't love it.

Edit: Your review of the game is laughable as well. You're extremely ignorant if you think any game developer is not out to make money. This isn't a charity.

For exact timings: Days ending in 0-3 are 50/50, 4-6 is 90/10 day/night, 7-9 is 10/90 day/night.

what is ignorant is the notion that everyone is out to make money regardless, fact is the game is a buggy pile of unstable crap and that is what should be concentrated on, not the next new shiny map... I can't even run the game at the moment so I think my negative review is quite justified, and considering I can run all my other games just fine before you say it, it is not down to my system... so did you think it was a good idea to remove all those servers before launch as well? because I know it was just to increase server rentals... Greedy company, might even be worse than EA.

50,000+ players everyday, but how if the game is broken? Easy, have money for good hardware.

No I don't agree with the servers they removed. They should have left then all up (stupid, but better) or wiped every server and started completely from scratch.
And tens of thousands of people run the game every day. Don't give me this "my computer is fine" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because obviously it isn't.

You're just Butthurt burnout lashing out at a company because they she doing what every other company does, make a living.
PEOPLE can do things not for profit, though if you truly dig deep into the psychology of it (don't, I feel like you don't have the brain power to comprehend) you'll realize that even the most altruistic acts are often fueled by selfish motivations. But more importantly a FOR PROFIT company does everything for money. Things as "self-less" as giving money to a charity, when looked at from a business perspective fund two goals. 1. Public Image and 2. Tax write offs. There are a few selfless people, there are no selfless companies because they would never survive the competition.

Dude I only started this discussion to figure out how a game mechanic works. I didn't ask for your opinion on the game itself. Stop begging for attention on this thread and start your own discussion where you can talk about the criticisms of the game.
