Alpha rankings (not bosses)
I thought it would be fun to check what I think are the strongest alphas VS what the wiki says.

I wonder what you guys think, which alphas feel tougher and less tough to fight?
Depending on the creatures and gear you have it might differ. For example I have fantastic shadowmanes that shred anything on land and in the sea. I haven't used them against Wyverns though. And those have felt the toughest to deal with so far.

I haven't fought every alpha in the game yet though. I still need to visit maps between the island and gen2 one by one, only done a couple transfer-visits outside my Gen 2 base.

What I make of the wiki/base and levelup hp/melee
1. Surface Reaper King
2. Mosa
3. Alpha Karkinos
4. Rex (stronger than Tuso)
5. Fire Wyvern (stronger than Tuso)
6.Tuso (tankier than Rex)
7. Alpha Basilisk (tankier than Rex)
8. Deathworm (highest base damage, tankier than most Carno, but lvl 1)
9. Carno
10. Blood Crystal Wyvern (stronger than Megalodon)
11. Megalodon (tankier than Carno)
12. X-Triceratops
13. Raptor
14. Leedsychtis (always lvl 1)

What I feel it is in-game:
1. Blood Crystal Wyvern
2. Fire Wyvern
3. Mosa
4. Tuso
5. Rex
6. Megalodon
7. Carno
8. Raptor
9. Leedsychtis
(I have not fought the other 5 alphas yet)

So how would you all rank them?

It's one of those situations where you kinda do need to keep in mind for what's available, and what you have on hand. You could theoretically say that alpha raptors are more dangerous than alpha rexes since you're more likely to run into alpha raptors than the rexes. And the moment you get a Giga, the entire alpha difficulty just kinda gets thrown out and you're left with the ones gigas can't reach.

Alpha Karkinos can also be stun locked very easily with proper big dinos, making his fight very trivial compared to other alphas who cannot be stun locked. But at the same time, Tusos can dismount you if you're not using the proper mounts, making it extra deadly compared to Mosy.

Then there are mission based alpha variants that you normally can't find in the wild. Alpha X-Trike is a very unusual case where it's mission based. So it's always there, and it can be significantly weak depending on the difficulty you picked for the mission. There are also Enraged Corrupted Trikes and Corrupted Rexes on extinction map (the latter can be found in the wild though). They are extremely tanky and they do devastating damage during OSD defenses.

Now for the difficulties in general, most alphas are actually pretty easy. You can beat all wyverns with a single fully imprinted wyverns as long as you position them correctly. It's very risky to take on raptors, carnos and rexes by yourself with the exact same dinos as your mount though. Alpha ocean dinos can go south really fast though, because they're definitely really strong, and you have more exposure to other dangers (eels, jellyfish, etc.). Alpha aberration dinos are definitely unique, but they all have their own weaknesses you can exploit (alpha reapers are extremely weak when exposed to light).

So really, outside of mission spawned alphas. I'd say the ocean alphas are the most dangerous. But the rest are pretty manageable as long as you have the right dinos.

I see. This opens up some more ways to think about it for me. Thank you. I did notice that the ocean ones are generally quite tough, especially due to other threats. Gen2 waters can quickly get you swarmed by 100 sharks on top of whatever alphas.

I guess it's hard to make a proper ranking as it's mostly subjective and situation and arsenal dependent. Hmmm... interesting.
