Can’t join servers in ps4

I’m about to lose my mind trying to figure this out. I’m trying to host a non dedicated server that my kids can join so we can all play together, but when I start, it doesn’t exist for them. And when they host, it doesn’t exist for me. I’ve been trying to figure it out for hours! What am I missing?!

1. This isn't the ps4 platform, this is primarily for Steam PC and secondaryly Epic PC purchases. As marg said, you should either go to the official website's forum section for ps4 or the official discord for similar.

2. If you are saying that you want ps4 to play with a pc iteration of ark, (I know you dont own ark through steam per your account not having the mouse icon but you could have it through epic hence mentioning this.) you cant. PS4 is a closed platform that does not allow play with other iterations of the game. That was a decision by Sony.

Omg. Ok wow, that makes so much sense. When I searched for ark forums (many many times) steam is literally the only option that popped up! Thank you both
