Ceiling Placement
https://imgur.com/a/fot5lUO

Heres another odd thing that I'm having difficulty with. I am just trying to enclose the ceiling of my structure. It's telling me that I need a foundation though?

Initially I tried this with S+, someone suggested I convert them back to vanilla, which is whats shown in the screen shot.

It's a ceiling/roof, so I'm not sure why a foundation would be required to enclose it. Is there some sort of trick to closing up a roof?

1 foundation will allow you to build outwards 2x ceilings from an edge... after that you need another foundation/pillar to continue out another 2 ceilings... and so on.

Its kinda difficult to explain in words.

Put it this way.... if you made a 6x6 foundation.... fully filled in with foundations..... then on a single foundation edge, you built up 2 or 10 or 15 or whatever walls high.... from the top of that wall you could build a 2nd 6x6 ceiling directly over that 6x6 foundation, without sinking a single pillar.

If you use S+ pieces, you can turn off foundation support and will be able to build your ceiling without any pillars if you don't want any.

To add to this, if you build 7x7 or larger and have not filled in the foundation (just the perimeter), you will not be able to close the ceiling in the middle.

We do use s+ on our server. How do I turn off foundation support. Is it a hot key, or something I need to do in my game.ini?

Ah super helpful, thank you. Hadn't even browsed around their steam page as I had the mod directly installed from my server dashboard

Yeah I think that's more or less what I ran into.

It's much larger than 7x7 as it's a large dino pen, below is all grass as i used the fence foundations and pillars for the outline, going 12 walls up.
