Prime fish not being harvested

Cant get a single piece with the Spino off of megladons. I then kill the meglas and harvest with a sickle, 124 pieces of fish, no prime. Salmon drop 1 maybe 2 pieces when harvested with a sickle.

thought spino was supposed to be really good at harvesting prime off of other fish....but no fish are dropping prime, or very little of it.

Ok, sorry, I should have been clearer, the Spino can harvest Prime Fish from Leedsichthyus and Tusoteuthis, as can any dino or tool.

From Salmon and Sharks the only way to harvest Prime Fish is to use a Sickle, a Moschops, or in the case of Salmon to have an Ichthyornis collect one which allows you to gather Prime Fish with a hatchet or a pick.

From sharks, any prime harvesting dino or tool can harvest from them. There is another factor at play that Im waiting to know which mode of game play he's using to mention. Not guaranteed either to harvest prime with any as there is a random factor too(which improves with other factors).

Because its an unofficial server, there are some possibilities as well that can contribute to the issue:

Damage rate of the harvesting dinos or character, if you're playing a scaled back damage dealing server this will impact the harvest chances of prime. This is especially possible based on server's that alter base damage(as opposed to the scaling % to the base dam we normally see).

Server owner has altered files of what can be harvested(unlikely but it can be done) from certain dinos.

Server owner is using mods that may cause a conflict. Alternate versions of sharks in mods can have this issue for example.

Server harvest rates are low and or harvest health and or level max wild on dinos. All factor for prime chances.

Just really bad luck. Its again not 100% guaranteed in most cases so random is random unfortunately.

Some other bug. Played a good portion of today on unofficial rag servers but did not encounter this issue on those servers.

I used the spino on salmon as well(awesome spot over by the blue obelisk) and nothing there as well. Also using a journeyman sickle was getting me 1 per every other salmon. Tried a megladon to farm as well, no luck.

I've been able to get prime fish from megalodons on solo and an unnoficial server with boosted rates and stats, normally i use a pick or hatchet (both metal). Main source of prime fish we use though is the local leeds, they tend to spawn stupid shallow on ragnarok so farming a living one or just killing em as you find em tends to be easy. Without boosted stats though its a bit tougher to just nom and run though.

Actually, I stand corrected, just looking at the Meglodon harvesting component and other tools will indeed harvest Prime from Meglodons, however with a very low drop rate (0.04 compared to 0.125 when compared to the Sickle) Dinos most definitely will not though.

*Shrugs shoulders* As Retsam says above, without knowing what mods, rates etc. you have on your server it's hard to pinpoint exactly what the problem could be, or if there even is a problem and you've just been unlucky with harvesting Megas, the drop rate of Prime Fish from them is very low, even with a sickle.

To be honest, you have a Spino, forget about Salmon and Megalodons and go kill Leedsichtyus with it, you'll have more Prime Fish than you know what to do with.
