Getting wiped literally every day

Convinced a group of my friends to try Ark, seemed to be our speed. Coming from Darkfall, and even Rust, hardcore games are pretty familiar.

The issue is, no matter where we build, no matter how quiet we try to be, it seems like every single day, by the end of the day, some virgins show up on level 300000 Gryffins or Wyverns, and absolutely blow the ♥♥♥♥ out of everything we've built. We can't feasibly fight back against these things, partly because we simply aren't allowed to build up more than a day, at best, before this ♥♥♥♥ happens.

I, and our entire group, hates PvE. We like PvP, we like competition, we don't want to lose that ability. But this doesn't feel like PvP, it feels like trying to build a sand castle and it getting knocked down every day by people you have zero chance to stop, all the while, none of the big groups seem interested in fighting each other. Just griefing the newer, less dangerous guys.

It's getting extremely difficult to keep everyone motivated to play when the comments are becoming "Why? It's just going to get wiped before we can do anything with it or protect it."

We've built in 5-6 different remote locations now. Kids always show up. We can't get turrets up if we aren't able to actually play for a few days. They don't do anything special when they do, they simple have Dinosaurs that hit harder than ours, and gear that is much better than ours. By the way, why tame anything without wings?

I just don't understand how you're supposed to deal with this. Being tenacious and tilt-proof only lasts for so long. You can only swallow getting griefed with no way to fight back for so long.

I played darkfall for many years, now I play ark. Its a different beast. Our tribe is looking for more people, hit me up if you want. We are established, could use some df pvp minded guys.

This game has full loot and politics that go beyond darkfall due to the massive cross server dynamics. There are 2 ways to be successful in ark, build lots of defenses and make deals with those who have more power or you will not get a foothold.

The third and final option is to play ark purely pvp jungle warfare style. This is very effective when done right but only a minority play this way.

I am not including pve, cause that isn't real ark, that's fairyland with dinos.

Op you act like if you once have turrets you would be safe. You're not.

In the state of development your enemies are, your turrets wont stop them.

You were late to the party. You joined a server with fully developed tribes and you won't establish yourself on that server. Finish.

Since you said you are not interested in unofficials there is no other choice than getting wiped everyday...or read yourself into "Ark Guerilla tactics" but that is a different playstyle and you will only enjoy it if you are already full of salt due to your enemies...

i would do Either PVE or unofficial... or unofficial PVE your welcome to join a server i play on. its balanced really nicely... its new and everyone is friendly.

Taquiliarawks is the server name. ( PVE unofficial) there are mods ) taming and breeding is x20 gathering is x4 i think. so you still have to work for your stuff but you dont spend all day taming or raising a dino.

Somehow implying that being good at PvP is only directly equivalent to having sunk a large amount of time had of other people and gained an exponentially increasing advantage as you easily knock groups down and take their materials and further add it to your lead?

Aside from that, we found a pretty chill place under a huge canopy and painted our base green. So far, so good.

Im sure the alpha farmers are just waiting until the fruit is ripe again.

Unofficial servers, you still face aggression, but depending on the server. Admins generally won't let you get buried and the rates are high enough for you to get something going quick.

People have mentioned this already in the 4 pages to now but He's stated that they have no intention to go to unofficial servers and prefer to just be farmed by alphas thinking one day they'll turn the tide.

Ok. It's really not that hard, but you do need to spend a little time scoping out the right server. Join some servers and talk to the inhabitants about the environment of the server and the alpha teams especially. Find a server where there's a certain level of fairness. Try to talk to the alpha teams too. We did this on the two servers we use to play on. In both cases we actually befriended the alpha tribes right from the start. I think just the fact that we were honest and open and started a dialog with them before even joining the server, we opened up that communication with them and they respected us for it. They even became great ally's to us and helped us out a couple of times when some griefers did show up on the server and give us some grief. They actually came to our rescue. We did decide against a hand full of servers before deciding on one in the beginning. Just due to the community telling us some bad stuff about the alpha tribes or roving band of griefers. So we moved on and continued looking. But we finally found the right place. This happend a second time later on when we decided to join a Center Map server. It just takes a little leg work to find the right place. If the server you are on is that bad, move to a different one, but to the research to find the right one. It makes all the difference in the world.
