ARK Server Manager: waiting for publication

I am setting up a ARK server for TheIsland map, did everything with ARK Server Manager but when I click starts the console and displays the server has started but in ARK Server Manager it says status: waiting for publication. I port forwarded both 7777 and 27015 ports which I am using in the StartServer bat file as Port and QueryPort

So I fought this whole thing for about two hours before I figured it out. I had a server that was running for a month and suddenly quit. My external IP had not changed after refreshing and checking in my modem and firewall settings. What did change however was my internal IP address. If you have the "Let ARK decide" for the IP address, it will change and when it does you need to reset your port forwarding to the new IP. I didn't notice this until I went to set a new rule and saw the IP was 1 digit off from the previous rule. I don't know if this helps but I had the exact same problem and this fixed it for me

Fixed. Found that the Linksys home router/firewall was filtering Internet NAT redirection. Once we disabled this filter, the ARK Server Manager was able to publish this server, the Availability properly updated to Available, and the Steam Server View was able to see the server via manually loaded favorite with the external address and query port.

I had to shut off my VPN in order for the server to load correctly.

Vpns don't normally perform port forwarding for you. Not unless it's a dedicated one. There are limited ports on a connection and multiple people can't claim the same one
