Thyla Caving?
I really like the Thyla and would like to go caving with it, in you guys' experience which caves can it go in? (All maps)

Btw. I'm yet to attempt any cave, still preparing... hence why I'm asking about the Thyla.

Thanx in advance for any advice :)

I was spoiled with thyla caving. Never had a thyla. Then, we got five new members to the tribe. They did not like the way their original tribe was going, and wanted a less frenetic PVP tribe, one that was not constantly at war. They brought a few thylas with them. So we mated them and several of us got cute little blue bearcats that looked like a five year old's favorite sneaker.
They were anything but cute when grown. Mine had 600% melee, 190 speed, 2300 stamina, and 11K hp with an 88 armor saddle.
We went caving often. A mate boosted pair of those stat thylas murdered everything in their way without stopping easily.
5-6K chitin each cave. Parkour from one side of the map running nonstop to the other without having to stop to regain stamina. 70 foot drops are laughed at and should you want to swim underwater for a few minutes, you could easily kill alpha leeds and return to the surface for more fun.

Short version?
Yes. Thylas good for caving. Or anything else you want. I killed a level 85 alpha rex with one of ours. Whole lot of ankle biting and jumping on walls and tail chewing in that twenty minute fight. I don't recommend trying it. I feel that I was very lucky during that fight, as the alpha rex went AI ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and kept trying to chew on a dead turtle corpse. It allowed me to get a solid two minutes of butt biting on the rex in before it lost interest in turtle and decided to deal with the annoyance nibbling on its nethers. I do not think I would have won otherwise. I had to try it, I was about to call it a lost cause, I had bloodied it pretty good in the fight, but my thyla was down to 30 percent hp, and the alpha just ran away, killed the turtle, and went full on idiot mode trying to eat the dead body. Free hits, so I took em.
And thyla got five more levels out of it. Sometimes you lucky, sometimes you get headshot off a ptera mid barrel roll.

But. Thyla seriously OP in caves. Won't fit in some, but the ones they do.....

Thyla is the perfect beast for the carno island cave on the island map.

Awesome thanx, but what caves do they fit in?

@KDub, thanx one cave on the list :)

They do not fit in the cave on SE on the south, due to small entrance. And they only make it halfway through the artifact cave on the middle of SE. And they cannot enter the snow cave on the Island map. And the small cave entrance on Lava Island on the Center is not accessible to them. As far as I know, they fit in all of the others.

Awesome, thanx a mil!! that will help a lot :)

As far as i know there is 2 snow/ice caves on the island, on to the south of the Blue Obelisk, and one SW, but that one is a "crawl" cave, so is it this one you're refering too? or is the one to the South also not able to let them in?

Also, any experience for the Ragnarok caves? (I don't think it will be able to hande the water/castle cave though, too much water there)

Crawl cave. Tel transmitter if you are determined to get them in. Or raise as baby and leave in there.
Garies Sep 14, 2017 @ 12:15am
lol, no the crawl cave I'll crawl, have a nice shotgun BP that I'll use for that one :)

So just for clarity sake, the ice cave to the south can let the Thyla in?

Thanx for the replies!! Helps me a lot :)

I liked the part when you said "short version?" Then made a longer paragraph.

Did you just reply to a 6 year old posting?

yea as this is the closest answer currently that I could find. as the wiki for that cave isn't
finished

Thylas are great for caves. There's a few spots here and there where it will stuck on something sticking down from the ceiling (rocks, crystals, etc). Bring cryopods, and pod and release them on the other side of the blockage.

Of course, they're not going to work in all caves. You'll still need ocean tames for the underwater caves. And there's one cave on the island, and one on lost island, that you can barely fit through while crouching.

Good cavers yes, though personally I prefer Baryonyx which is imo thee ultimate caving creature for several reasons.

I don't know exactly what caves Thyla's fit into though, but generally I play with the Dino storage mod so it really doesn't matter what can't fit through the caves often stupidly small entrances.
