No. You can imprint. It will read 0% gain.

I did this on a Wyvern, it already had 100% and the time left allowed for another imprint, nothing happens it just stays at 100%.

in console use the command "setimprintquality" 1 = 100% / 2= 200% / 0.5 = 0.50% ........ unless this has changed in the last couple of days it won't show over 100% but the stats still rise!
frankly this way youy can change imprint up or down np !
I use classic fliers and if I have a 100% imprint on wyverns they are unfliable in tight areas so in general I will set them after they mature to about 60% ( so setimprintquality 0.6) land dino's speed in general is not such an issue
after you set imprint quality (you have to see the tames blue info box and only see that tame for this to work) the health will drop (if going up ......going down it won't change) once that has happened then either nurse back up to full health or get on and turn infistats on then off ......your tame is now back to 100% !
so to sum up ....... in game without use of console 100% is max
single player using console ...... pretty much whatever you want!
but as with all things ..... if this is your first time doing this BACKUP YOUR LOCAL SAVES / ARKS !!!!!!
console is great but it can also allow you to kill your game if you don't know what you are doing! so save everything now and give yourself a way back!!

btw, get to know your advanced settings .....well all your settings really ! as you can also change how imprinting affects stats so you could literally just change those sliders and effectively get the same stat increase you desire and still be 100% or lower! ........or do both and go nuts :):):)

whatever rout you choose........ my advice is get to know console and settings ...... both will be useful to know
best wishes

what you should know is that some times the imprint can show 100% but it may actually be more like 99.5% not all imprints are set numbers such as 1-2-3-4, some of them have a 1.x, 2.x, 3.x etc, in these cases you can tell by doing the imprint when it already shows 100% and just look for the very slight change in stats.

Or do the math earlier on, if you imprint the first time and get 4% then the next imprint it shows 9%, obviously a .x factor.
