Ferox Taming - What Is The Trick?

I finally found ONE in the frickin blizzard. I fed it some element, Ferox got whizzed and attacked then calmed down. Fed it again, rinse and repeat. This happened five times, but no tame. How many times do I have to feed the critters? I never saw any type of taming bar either. Thanks!

Single player, no mods.

I did the same thing about 20 times just few days ago and all the Ferox did was get big, rage then get small. Rinse Repeat but still 0% on Taming. Hope they fix but I do have nice one still with 27,000 health and 1,100 Melee, named Honey Badger!!

Yeah it doesn't work since the patch sadly. They broke dino respawn and wipes, ferox taming, bloodstalker webs, etc.

They messed up Teleport spots as well. We made a base right next to the North teleport spot in Bog and now it puts us way Northeast. Hope they fix them back to where they were.

Just tried taming and each time it remained at 0% after using element on ferox. Single player. I think this is the most broken dlc yet. Certainly for sp it is.

My latest attempt seemed to work fine, it update the percentage everytime i fed it, but sadly it despawned at 45%, right infront of me.

I will try again tonight. I used the small tunnel area in Fro-Zone mission cave to lure high lvl Ferox. then just fed it Element and let it rage while I was safe in smaller tunnel which big Ferox could not fit. let it get small then feed it again. hoping % taming increases this time and not waste like 20+ Element when I did it before.

Still no luck for me. I may just try the cave so I am not spending all my time trying to find one only to have it not tame.

So I found out that if you are playing SP and the cave is not spawning critters you must log out in the cave and then log back in and then it'll spawn critters. However nothing will repawn as you kill things off so you'll have to relog again and again to get the cave to continue spawning new things.

I did find some decent Ferox's in the blizzard area a couple days ago and they were bugged for taming so I cheated and DoTamed them. Screw losing a ton of element for a WK bug.

They use about 20 element for a high level now, I just got a couple tonight. The cave is good, lots of high levels and easy to clear the area of bad things however I got my two in the blizzard though it was a bit frustrating with so many wolves around. I used a stalker and webbed it when it converts, it can't hit you and doesn't go off picking fights with others.

Tamed a level 150 female Ferox by building a Metal Taming Cage for it (Unoffical Server and you can build in Mission Zones under the "No Griefing Rules") took exactly 20 element

I am on single player and that is the issue I think. They messed up taming for SP.

I tamed one on Sunday on my SP world using element, it was a 145 and it took about 20. If you don't know if it's taming try holding H on it to bring up its little menu. If you feed it element and it doesn't have any taming progress after it turns small again, it is bugged for you.

I kept checking with H to have HLNA scan it. Didnt wanna get near the Murder Fuzz!

If you try it when it's laying on the floor after it goes back to being small it won't work, wait until it gets up and starts walking again. Not sure if that's your problem but I found that holding H on it doesn't work when it's still laying on the ground.

I tamed a 338 Ferox on Unofficial friend's server (max 350 Wild). Just teleported to Artic, tracked Fro-Zone Mission for Cave with Ferox, Polar Bears, Wolves. I lured 338 Ferox to small tunnel area then fed it Element, then used Grappling hook to grapple up out of attack range until got small again. Lowered myself down, fed it Element (after it gets up and shakes it head animation). Keep repeating this until tamed. I took 100 Element with me to make sure I tamed but think it was about 40-50 Element for 338.
