Good Quality Eggs. But a Little too easy....
So just attempted my first go at getting Magmasaur eggs. Tamed a level 90 Stego in the Volcano, named it Sacrifice, gave it a basic saddle, put it in a Pokeball (Cryopod), and headed into the Volcano.

So the Eastern Teleport has this little spot just past the entry to the Volcano that oversees a Magmasaur Pit with a Giant Stalagmite in its Center giving a good view all around the base while not being seen by said Magmasaurs while in a Ghille.

Now I tossed out Sacrifice (see above) and Whistle Commanded it to move around and draw the Magmasaurs away while it was on Aggressive Stance. By moving your sacrifice around like microing a unit in a RTS you can bait Magmasaurs around before the Sacrifice ultimately goes the way of all offerings to Volcano Gods. This leaves the Eggs wide open for a good snatch!

Got 2 Eggs that spawned inside each other and quickly Grappled out of the hole but the Magmasaurs were on the opposite side of the giant stalagmite leaving me home free to run down a passageway and Teleport out with HLNA.

A little disappointed this worked soo well since all the YT Guides say use a Ferox or Bloodstalker to do this easily....

As long as people can just teleport out of harms way, there are various plans you can think of that can make things like this stupidly easy. I honestly dint expect this to be that hard to begin with (with teleporting in mind that is), unless your server/SP map is suffering from heavy over/under spawning issues that make this area more populated then seems to be intended (or if you lucky less populated then intended :P).

Fairly large spawns actually saw 8 Magmasaurs piled on each other in 1 corner. But the fact that a single Stego can be tossed into the Pit and lure them all to one side makes it silly!

Yeah but mostly because you can simply teleport away, if you had to walk out, it suddenly becomes another story, as soon as said stego dies :-P

even before said stego dies it can be iffy.

Large blobs of lava spewed your way kinda hurt, and that tp takes a long time

That's part of the point yeah, but clearly the teleport doesn't take long enough for it be a challenge for the OP :-P

Cool technique, didn´t thought of that :)

Yes Magma egg stealing is indeed easier then Wyvern or Rock Drackes, you can even use a gliding suit and grapling hook, if you´re lucky enough to find a nest where no Magma sits on the egg you can fly next to the egg (Magma aggro range is also pretty low), start teleport and grab the egg the last second bevor the tp starts.

It would be way more challenging and fun if you restrict teleporting inside the vulcano (but that would also mean you´re 100% f*cked when the vulcano erupts and you´re inside).

What I did was keep a Grapple to the Stalagmite's top, jumped down after the baiting, Grab eggs, pull back up, glide across gap, and while flying grapple to another spot to get out. The Magmasaurs do fire at you but they can't hit a moving target that well. What you really gotta watch for is when a scorpion takes a stab at you as you run past!
