Single player resources not coming back.
So i'm cross posting this to the steam forums so i don't have to worry about the topic mysterious vanishing or being polluted by their community moderators then just slamming it locked.

If there are any PC players on here i'm asking for your help to verify that resources are not respawning after being mined, if you exit the game or crash before they respawn.

it's a simple testing process.

jump into single player, and use the reset default config arrow button to make sure you dont have anything wonky on. jump into advanced and change the "Resources Respawn Period" to "0.10" which lets them repop in a shorter time to verify the problem(5hrs in game). You can also change the "No resource radius - players" down to 0.1 if you want.

i would use the following admin commands;
infinitestats
god
fly

go to a metal node farm it and fly half way across the map and quit to the menu. reload the game and go back to where the metal node was. use the slomo 99 command to fast forward time where the five hours in games takes like 60 seconds. does the metal node ever come back for you?

The original post was conveniently locked less than 30 seconds ago. https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/forums/topic/606440-an-open-plea-to-wildcard-to-fix-single-player-resource-respawning/

How WC manages to stay in business is amazing.

First response: Stay silent. Second response: Call it a feature. Third response: Lock the thread.

As far as I'm aware resource respawning in singleplayer is broken unless you have -prevent hibernation enabled as a launch command. This has been a problem for years and the only solution is taxing on your machine. Hope this helps.

I don't know which is worse; that it's broken, or the devs continue to lie and not fix it.

real question...is the game still playable without resources respawning? doesnt it just make it more of a challenge?

I had the same bug. I heard it helped when you go a long distance away directly after you farming the ressources.

@Devs that is a bug!!!!!!!!!!

Resources not respawning is a long known bug in single player.

The bug does not occur if playing on a dedicated server.

Your PC's performance will usually improve even if you run a dedicated server and the Ark client on the same PC.

Running a dedicated server is easy if you use Ark Server Manager, if you can follow their instructions. https://arkservermanager.freeforums.net/thread/5193/downloads

You can, of course, run a dedicated server without it, if you're playing on a PC and know how to do it.

Eventually you will run out of resources. Metal, oil, etc you can recoup some via the TEK dinos but.. Crystal. Have fun playing the game without any of that when you need Tek.

the entire WC response has been comical. A couple years ago there was another outcry and their community manager at the time was telling people that was the way it was supposed to be to prevent people from having too much metal lol. Like you can't change it to instantly respawn, or give yourself 5billion metal with an admin command. I mean if WC is just going to make up lies and call it a feature at least think what you are going to tell people through first haha.

Someone on the official forums was saving the -preventhibernation only has the ability to affect the dinos. the rest of the world doesn't go into stasis.
SP is bugged. If you leave the game after destroying nodes, they will not respawn. Best idea is to just set your resource respawn rates to like .0001 for near instant node respawns. It's buggy, but sorta works.

Basically user error at this point of Ark's life :reaperleviathan:

Yeah you must wait for respawn before you leave the game.
CHANGE THE RESOURCE RESPAWN TIME TO .01

If you have problems with a area changing the respawn rate will clear it up at least it did for me the one time i had trouble

isnt this a feature? i came across ths from a dev:

"Community Manager Jennifer Stuber, on the other hand, responded to a post over on Twitter requesting to fix some single player issues in the game specifically the resource nodes and cave spawns not popping up after players exit “ARK” before they actually respawned.

Stuber pointed out that it is not a bug adding that it prevents other Survivors from restarting the game just to get infinite loot/resources."

if you can reliably crash your game it will all come back on reboot. always works for me.

i want some level of timer, so i do .5 and just make sure i go get my resources first thing when i start a session. usually 24 in-game hours means everything is back.
