Imagine buying Ark Ultimate Survivor Edition.

Playing it for the first time, starting out single-solo on The Island to learn the game. Grinding your way to a small base, a few tames and then head to a cave where you hope to find some good loot and an artifact. Just to find a broken loot system. You risked every thing you had and get nothing in return. Why keep playing, where is the incentive? Without the loot (new stuff) the game gets repetitive real quick. There is nothing to look forward to.

Hey Ark, you know having the loot system broken isn't good. But it effects everyone. Not just the people how bought the DLC. You need to make this one of your top priority.

Yeah, I know gen 2 loot is good. Which makes Ark look really bad. Almost like it is a way to get people to buy the DLC. Not saying you are doing dirty business practices here. Just saying it doesn't look good.

No he makes a good point in fact with the drops broken it prevents people from getting the saddles they need to do boss fights. I for one am trying to do the story in order and with out the saddles i'm stuck...

nah hes right all loot drops are giving only prim items like ive been looting red drops so i can get bps and all i get is prim bps for like jars and platforms

He does have a good point though, what is the game gonna be like when anyone can transfer to gen 2, get tons of high level and quality gear, then transfer back to the island for pvp??? That aside, they are going to fix the prim gear soon, it's been talked about plenty on discord.

Yeah.. but the entire premise is faulty, a new player isn't going to know right off the bat that his loot drops aren't as good as we were getting last week. A new player isn't likely to give a damn about cave runs this soon after picking up the game, they'd probably be busy dealing with all the other parts of the game, like raptors and piranhas.
There's plenty there to do looong before you ever need better than prim blueprints to do boss fights.. not that you really do, if you breed+mutate your dinos you don't need anything better than prim saddles to defeat alpha bosses with barely a scratch anyway.
The reality is this was a convenient point to complain about, but it missed the mark.. especially since the devs have already tweeted that they are working on the drops issue currently.

If the loot you get isn't may better that what you can make, why spend the time looking for loot? When it is quicker just to make it. Anyone can figure that out.

Just wait till they fix it. Just focus on other areas as Necaradan666 said, i'm not sure its worth a full dummy spit.

I'm not new my first account had over 2600 hour this on has over 5k hours. I know they are working on it the dev manager put out a list of stuff they are prioritizing. It was 5th on the list. The point of the post is it should be higher. Sorry if it ruffed your feathers guys.

Well keep in mind devs intentionally do not interact on these forums in such a capacity as to agree to your wants. Basically as has already been said, you just have to wait. If you've been playing for as long as you have, you should know that it is a common thing that after new dlc's we have to wait for various fixes and more. Again, you just need to be patient and roll with it.

I know it will come, I probably more passionate for it then most of the new people will be. Maybe if you would put yourself in there shoes you might see the frustration.

Your OP says you are new, then you say you aren't, lol, talk about confused.

Umm what? You do know the main DLCs have a story connected to it right, so the stuff should be better. If you jump to the end If you jump to the last chapter having better gear makes sense..

Your stance and beliefs makes me rethink the starting point of all the other DLCs. Other than the Island(original game) all other maps could have a recommended starting level plus recommended starting gear. I guess all the Arks you could be new imports and Gen Part one could be a forced restart.
