Giganotosaurus respawn time?
So im fairly new to ark and all but ive only had 1 giganotosaurus spawn. im playing on the island and found a giganotosaurus but it was lvl 45 or something so i killed it but now its been many hours of game play and several kill wild dinos commands and i cant find another. ive been to all the spawn spots several times. is there a in game cool down till another spawns or do i need to chill in the area to have it respawn?

ive tried looking everywhere online for an answer and i just cant find anything.

am i doing anything wrong or do i just need more patience?

Gigas are just super rare on the island. I only ever saw two there and that's with hundreds of hours of playtime and massively boosted dino spawn rates. Killing everything in the area they spawn might help, since it gives the game more space to add new critters.

Creatures don't spawn if you aren't near them. It's a feature called hibernation. This disables any thing that is not in render distance to become not alive and stay in the same place. On official and dedicated servers, this is turned off. In this situation, the giga will not spawn, unless you are in render distance of it.

i saw a bit of info about that while looking up info. if i disable that do you know if it then takes a harder pull on my computer? like my computer is not super old but i do need this on medium quality to really enjoy with out low frame rates.

disabling hibernation will use more ram and cpu cycles. reducing graphics settings is usually because of a gpu power limitation.
