Wind turbines not generating any power
On Scorched Earth sp (no mods) and have 3 turbines placed, but the cables attached shows up dead (i.e not yellow - no power). The wind in the area seems to vary between 40-85% (it was 85% when i placed, but atm it shows 40%)

Any ideas?

Google a wind power map for SE and only place wt on 100% place.

That's not what the wiki etc says.. Also on co-op our base where at the red obelisk where it's not 100% and yet they worked.. It would be very stupid if the turbines could only be placed on so few places.

The data showed on your char gui is wind strength other than wind power.
100%wp zone is quite large though most are barren places.
Of coz WTs can be placed in non 100%wp zone and work for a period of time. WTs stop when wind strength goes down below 20%.
Only places marked 100%wp on the map I mentioned would guarentee its wind strength never goes below 20%.
Others may go below 20% though low odd. The place you choose seems to be a 85%wp place which has a wind strength between 17%~85% instead of 40%~85% as you thought.

Problem is though, that they never work. Doesnt seem to matter if its 40 or 85%

Since I started playing last month, I've noticed some power flow issues that I couldn't explain or solve. I built elevators (from S+) that were too remote to be powered by my wireless generator. Not wanting to building another of those, I first built a fuel-free Advanced Regenerator (mod of same name) adjacent and then connected it to the keypads and elevator with S+ in-block wiring. All the blocks showed live current, but the keypads and elevator refused to power. I then added a wind turbine as you have, which at least had wind when I first added it, connected it to everything else, and... nothing. When I finally built another wireless generator everything powered up right away.

When I had built my first "base" as a mobile motorboat, that same wired approach worked fine. What did I do wrong with that part of the static base? I don't think I did do anything wrong, yet nothing worked unless it was wireless.

Ok, I misunderstood your issue. You mean they don't work at the very beginning.

Just to test, I placed a turbine in the outer desert where it has constant 100% and it still didnt light up and generate any electricity

I replaced the outer (100%W) turbine and then drew cables from that one to the others, and now it works.

I dont know what to make of this, seems its broken and just completely random, as with the rest of the building in Ark

I call it "eccentric".
