I want to play But The Game is too Easy! Any Hardcore Mods?

How would you change the ARK experience to be more unforgiving?
Besides playing "The Hunted" mod, for example.
I know I can lvl up dinos, I know I can make it so you get less XP.
Is there any mod that makes the game hardcore? You die and you're done? You have to restart your character?

EDIT: People seem to be absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in this community, so I ain't reading this thread anymore, to a few of the people that answered that there is a normal option in ARK to go Hardcore, thank you! I should have checked.

XP modifiers in the settings menu, for both servers and your own single player.
And just turn hardcore mode on, for both servers and singleplayer again. Just check your settings both options are provided by vanilla ark.

Actually yes! In the options menu before launching your world there's a hardcore mode, you just gotta scroll down a little.

Just set the "how powerful tames are compared to wilds" to 1.0. Makes more sense too.

Also a No-Flyers playthrough forces you to dodge around everything and sometimes fight.

If you bothered to look in the options menu under local/hosted, you'd see you have a box you can tick to make your play session hardcore mode. You do not need a mod for that.

You can also adjust as someone else mentioned, the wild dinos to have stats so strong as to 1 shot you and then once tamed(post tame stats) so weak as to be 1 shotted by even the weakest of dinos that are wild.

In other words, take the time to actually look in the settings menu.

You can enable hardcore mode in server settings which is perma death.

You can also reduce tamed dinos armor and damage or make wilds hit harder.

As far as mods go, I have played primal fear and eternal on low multipliers and neither are harder than the base game so I wouldn't recommend then if you are looking for a challenge. The early game and general environment is much more dangerous in those mods but the end game doesn't compare to base game so you will clear the mods in about 2 months.

As you have cleared every cave and alpha boss solo in the game, which one do you think is the hardest to beat?

There are numerous difficulty settings that you can change when setting up your server. If you're running Single Player or a private server, there are literally hundreds of mods that will change the gameplay entirely. Some make it noticeably harder, while others are more for improving the "quality of life" aspects of the game.

If you want a bigger challenge, I highly recommend mod suites like Primal Fear (with all expansions), Gaia, Ark Eternal, etc.

Assuming you go the modded game route, here are some of our favorite mods to use alongside Primal Fear and such:

Oh, and just save yourself time and run everything on Difficulty 5. Lower multipliers don't change enough of the game to matter, so just set everything to max (5) and enjoy!

Try out The Hunted mod if you're looking for a hard, but more vanilla experience. Changing the difficulty offset just increases levels. It doesn't make the game harder at all.
