when the drops are red there is oil in space, killing and harvesting trilobites yields oil, oil is deep in the ocean zone you can access it from the big ocean area in the city(look for sharks) and drops can sometimes give you oil as well.

There should be oil viens in the corrupted side of the map, though not many.
There are also Basilo/Tuso in the underwater biome thingy, witch not only drops but also produces oil, or less ideal trilobites\tek creatures.
And then they also recently added dung beetles to get extra oil when converting feces.

Quite a few options out there honestly.

BabyRage if i've ever seen it.

There IS oil in space, it's part of the nightly rotating astroid field. HLNA also sells it, just do some easy alpha races and you'll be good. There is some on the map, you can go deep under water in the water zone to find some. There's also just, ya know, porting from another map.

Understandable, Gen 2 is a little weird. They really made getting certain resources either very difficult (looking at your mutagen!) or just tedious (... METAL!). Base location is everything, but yeah, still ass imho.

Go to 70 -15 area, travel along the rivers, up on a ledge is 2 oil veins near each other. Another vein is far north, just south of the very large mountain Gachas spawn at, this is located on an edge.

The giant round structure in the Eden biome in the water, has a tunnel under it that leads to a very large underwater area. You will find oil rocks under the water there.

In space oil rocks do happen, it is all RNG, so unfortunately your server, it may not be happening that often.

There is an oil vein at about 53, 38. It also has metal, obsidian, and crystal nearby. There are plants nearby that contain black pearls, chitin, element shards, rare flowers, etc. plus there are araneos and mantises (plenty of chitin and organic polymer). It makes a nice location for a PvE base, plus has easy access to the asteroids.

It is in space. Just wait until after 01:30am when you see Red supply drops and there will be Oil in space. If you have any other coloured supply drop it won't be there.

Resources in space always change, the color of the drops tells you what is out there, Red drops mean oil! Yes it IS OUT THERE IN TONS!

Quite tedious if you're not already after the electronics. I brought my Dung Beetle with me when I transferred from Ragnarok.

But WC already patched Dung Beetles in. And there are videos on YouTube showing people where the oil veins are. Which would probably the best source.

I had no problem getting oil from under the sea area with a good sarco. You can even find basilo in the trench area so you don’t even need to go to the big scary part of the undersea spot.
A spot I didn’t think of earlier as it would have been hard to accomplish was I actually found a Gacha that makes oil. Pumps out a lot as well. Pity I don’t need it now though.
