Tek Trough Modes

My friend told me that I can use the "Toggle all OFF in area" option on the tek trough to disable dino's from feeding from that specific trough and in that mode it would basically be an ordinary refrigerator as far as functionality. Is this so? I clicked the "Toggle all OFF in area" option on the trough but I cannot tell which mode it is in as the option does not say "Toggle all ON in area" after clicking ont it as would be expected and there is no information available when you look at the trough, anybody got a clue about this?

Just assume it doesn't work. Troughs and the toggle options are janky as anything already.
