The egg needs to be laid near air conditioners otherwise the egg health will go down and not hatch. There are other ways besides air conditioners to have glued eggs hatch, but the easiest way is air conditioners.
As for hatching them I do not have a air condition but now I will work towards that right now. I was wanting to know how to do it without a air conditioner.
For example i found this there:
Glued Eggs
While most creature's egg can be moved to its suitable location if the required temperature for incubation is not suited at its current location, some of the eggs cannot be moved once laid due to its glued nature. As such, females of the following eggs must lay their eggs at locations that allows incubation without causing complications:

so if the egg is already there.. it might be too cold or hot..
you need energy and airconditions..
if you're lucky it's to cold and some standing torches or campfire would be engough.
acc. to wiki the incubation range is: 12 - 16 °C / 54 - 61 °F
I will give that a try when I get back to my base. Just found out how to get pearls and organic polymers
So first outside.
Second inside no heat.
Third I placed it in the middle of the room and it started to work again. So I guess it was too close the door/sun? Must to been too hot.
the actual temp. ( you can see top left when display location and time.. on PC it's defaulf "H")
and the insulation rate ( you can chack in your inventory. there is hyper- and hypo- insulation.
for your example: you are in a to hot biome for a egg to hatch naturaly. you can only heat a close range ( with grill, torches, camfire etc...) but cant not cool...
to aircondition requires power.. so thats a mid-game thing. it ould not cool eigther.. it would increase the insulation ( the higher the insulation, the less influence on the temperature..)
early game option: tame maaany kairukus (penguins)
Passive Abilities
Insulation - Standing next to a Kairuku provides 26 Cold.pngHypothermic insulation, which decreases based on your distance from it, up to about 1 foundation horizontally or 1 wall vertically. Standing next to multiple Kairuku will compound the effect.
or a bit harder: tame a dimetrodon...
ps: the "in house" buff contains also a increase of insulation.. therefore some eggs can hatch inside a house but not outside... its to little for special eggs but could work for a simple egg that has almost "incubation temp".
4 airconditions are enough for almost every dino except top tier like giga, wyvern magmasour etc...
The easiest way is of course air conditioners. I usually place one or two of them in a corner of my base or breeding area. Then drop the egg next to them. The a/c automatically adjusts the temperature to incubate the egg.
More primitive methods include moving the egg to a different biome and/or using standing torches or campfires to hit the correct temperature range for that particular creature. Different creatures require different temperatures to incubate the eggs, which is why the a/c is so nice as it automatically adjusts assuming you have enough of them close by. Some of the high tier dinos like gigas and wyverns need 4 or more air conditioners to hit the eggs required temp.
Ok, thank you for those very helpful tips. I do see the hypothermal numbers.
I do not know if xbox does have that mechanic but I will look that up now to help me.
As for the air conditioners I will keep that in mind, as for the kairuku as well.
That gives me an idea of how hatching works a bit and now I better understand it. If I get another scorpion egg I will keep in mind of the temp numbers to make sure I was doing it wrong the first time. I might had gotten very lucky with the temp during the 1st and nd and the 3rd was just the right temp to finish it.
But thank you very much for both handy tips. I will surely keep that in mind. For the pasrt 3 days now I been just studying and learning ark as much as possible. So if theres anymore tips do please give me more. Any will help me out here.
How does a scorpion melee works? Will it put creatures to sleep only with tail attack or overall attacks? I noticed the pinchers do put creature to sleep, unless it's just very perfect timing when the tail is doing the work. I also notice creatures start to move slower when sleeper but I don't know if that's another thing to watch out for or something else.
Some of the stuff I won't be able to find on youtube nor discussion. It's better to ask then not ask, is what some teachers will say.
