2021 ARK Dedicated Server third person POV options?

I recently decided to switch to PC after playing ARK on PS4 for the last couple years. I have my own dedicated servers and I use admin cheats to build as I like and I do it all in 3rd person. I'm not a first person POV player, its not my thing. I thought that all the game options would be the same when I came to PC but its been a real nightmare. I can't for the life of me find out how to play in 3rd person on my private server. I have read countless threads about pressing K and scrolling the mouse wheel but none of that work on my private ark server. I use GPORTAL and I have never had an issue using the server setting and I have 3rd person enabled but when I log in and go to play the menu still says 3rd person disabled. I see there was suppose to be a bug fix but I have not found an update. Please anyone, if you can help me I would appreciate it. I was really looking forward to this. Also apparently the 3.4 hours it took updating and setting up voided me being able to get a refund for the game since it counted the time as gameplay. Lame.

Your post isn't clear how you are enabling 3rd person on your server, via startup command line or via GUS.ini.

I apologize as I am a beginning PC gamer. I don't really know what I am looking at in this link, is a list of admin commands? I currently use GPORTAL for my dedicated server and there is an enable third person option on the basic server settings. On the PS4 there was a wheel that you could pull up that also has emotes and a chat scroll option but I can't seem to access this feature.

When I am on my dedicated server the pause menu tells me that third person is disabled when in fact it isn't. I think I read back in 2017 people reached out to ARK about it and they were waiting for a patch about it. I guess they never turned it on for the dedicated servers that I have found.

Welcome to PC things can be much better. IF you did not change any server settings from Default having to do with this DO NOT. Next if you did not change any settings on your Player side of things DO NOT.

Finally to switch from FP to TP all you do is roll the mouse wheel...........

That is it that simple. There are settings to disable one or the other but you need to do nothing if you do not want to restrict.

If you have your own hardware or rent hardware without a host company STRONGLY suggest you install and use Ark Server Manager. This software will simplify how you run your server. Default settings you could be hitting the start button inside 5 minute.

ASM allows you to control dino spawns, 3p/1p view restrictions. Add mods with just a number or search the list that the ASM will generate for you. Run any official map through the drop down or type in the correct name for any Workshop map.

ASM allows you to run your server your way, allowing Ark to be fun over and over again. Easily do things like keep a Rex from being tamed or change rates so that Rex is not a 7hr tame.

If it is disabled under on the server you can fix that easily enough. Recommend the ASM as I mentioned but can do it without. I just do not know the exact location in the file. Would be either GameUserSetting or GameSettings. Something like that. Almost never open a file at all.

Very awesome! I reset my server and noticed that the third person was finally enabled in the pause menu, I used my mouse and by golly it worked. Thank you for your input. I will def be getting the ASM.
