Report a translation problem
1. I actually (opposite of KDub) stand the direction I am putting the fence and face the last piece I put down and look up slowly until it starts snapping. Then I try to get it the direction I want it and go from there.
2. If the height difference is too great between the piece that's down and the piece you are putting it won't snap. When that happens, I put a wall up on the last piece I put down, then match up the new foundation to the wall with a bit of an overlap. Hard to get a true straight fence that way but it is doable.
3. Turn off ground clutter while you are putting down fences. Helps a lot!
