Building with the Big gates can hold a giga
I did some searching and eventually found some solid numbers. For anyone who's interested, here they are:
Width 3
Length 17
Height 8
To full enclose with no parts sticking out. Make it 10 width and you can have 4 shoulder to shoulder
Mine will be Width 5. That's 85 foundations, 85 ceilings, 350 walls and a behemoth gate on one of the Width 5 ends.
That's 4250 metal and 1275CP for the foundations, 2800 metal and 850CP for the ceiling, 8750 metal and 2450CP for the walls, and 3600 metal 840 CP 140 Polymer for the gate. It will also have 2 doors and 5 ramps but I didnt bother to calculate those
Total:
19,400 Metal Ingots
5415 CP
140 Polymer
And a bit more for the doors, ramps, generator, grill, industrial cooker, generator, cables and outlets, 6 AC units above the grill, a few fridges, and some lamps
More if you want turrets, which I won't bother with. It's less hassle to just move my Giga to the main base til whatever war I'm in is over, and patch up any holes if they broke into it
To save on resource the foundation can look like this with the x's being empty
