Giga rage mode?

So I just tamed a giga and I’m concerned about something called rage mode? How much damage is required enrage a tamed giga? Thanks.

it depends most things will not enrage it, watch for those small spiky
stegos (forgot name) and other wild gigas

Kentrosaurus watch out for those if you hit them it will probably go in rage mode

AFAIK roughly 45% of a giga’s max life of unmitigated damage Inflicted instantly will enrage a giga.

Im sure there are other triggers also.

I plan on keeping him at my main base. Would it be a good idea to make a metal enclosure for him? Most of the wild dinos I encounter there are no worse than the occasional alpha raptor most of the time dilos and regular raptors

Giga is one of the only animals i would keep outside and not be too worried, but as above a group of kentros and other wild gigas can be a problem. When riding giga also make sure u dont fall off a cliff too far, fall damage can be a problem too iirc

Those dinos won't enrage your giga. As mentioned previously mentioned you should only really worry about other gigas or kentros and arthroplueras. Also beware of fall damage as that is a quick way to send your giga into a fit.
However, if you're unsure and don't have any experience with the giga's enrage, take whatever precautionary measures you feel you need. Having a raged giga inside your base is not fun.

Fall damage won't enrage gigas anymore, hasn't for a long time now

Unless your on PvP, Giga rage really isn't something to worry about, unless you have no walls at all and live in a area with kentro's or wild giga's. I have about 10 in my breeding base at all times, never had any issues.

A stomp from a Gamma King Titan (~13,000 damage against mate-boosted Gigas) is enough to auto-enrage them.

And as others have stated, this is unmitigated dmg excluding fire (flame throwers, Fire Wyverns, etc), meaning it does not take the saddle or dino buff into account.

What about imprinted gigas? If I bred a 100% imprinted giga, would that prevent it from ever being enraged regardless of damage?

If it got hit for ~20k damage it will always enrage unless it has like 100k hp somehow.
Imprint will make it 30% harder to enrage when you are riding on it and the hp bonus will also make it harder to enrage.

don't worry too much about gigas enraging if playin pve. try to breed one as soon as possible to make it even harder to enrage and to kill things faster. Again, don't be too afraid of this mechanic as i used to be.
And by the way i one shoot kentros with 4 K dmg every time i play ark and never got my giga enraged.
The only time i saw a giga enraging in pve was by defending a red pod on extinction with a non imprinted giga. that was as fun as scary :D
