Mutagel/Mutagen

Is there any way to get quicker those? Farming with a pick takes very long to get a bit of it and I need 87 for my shadowmane :/...... I know its a strong thing if it would be easy to get, but its annoying even with x2 stats...
Already trie to look at Rockwells Biome too, but even when the icon is shown, I can`t find any of those "plants" and when i saw it right, you only get 1 Mutagen out of each, so it isn``t much too

What I did was invest what little I did get into taming a very low level stryder with an excavator. Then I walked it to the asteroids when drops were white. You'll mostly get ambergris and metal but you'll get gel too.

*edit: Can also confirm gel when drops are purple.

Ankylo or Harvesting Stryder would be the best way. They "swim" in space, so they're much faster at moving around.

If this is in single player, it probably just takes a while for Mutagen to respawn in the cave, I'd go there and wait there a bit longer if possible.

If you can make one try the Mining Drill. But I agree using a dino is good.

For the ambergris asteroids:

Anky is the best, stryder is really bad.

Pickaxe second and drill if you're desperate.

Tried the Stryder before i wrote this, but i didnt got even 1 gel at the ambergris time thats why i asked here and now iam clueless why some say here use stryder??

It's a serious waste of time mining mutagel, just go into rockwells innards and grab the gel around the base of his heart when the acid level recedes, use a mining drill or a whip. Come back as often as it respawns to get the same amount in a minute or two as spending half a day grinding out rocks in space. Either way though, mutagen is ridiculously grindy. I just changed the rates for making it on my server.

Anky in the space biome works wonders. especially if imprinted. We have 2x gathering but i can get 8000 or so mutagel during an ingame day of gathering.

Do note we have SS/S+ so the inventory assistant helps getting rid of the stone and ambergriss

My low lvl Stryder had similar results as Charcharodonto's Anky. Roughly 10k in a ingame day. Unofficial 2X rates.
