Can't find any megalania on the island

I've been running into an issue where megalania will not spawn on the island, I've been to multiple caves where they're supposed to spawn but in all my time spent playing ark I've literally only seen one, I thought it was just a matter of the spawns being too rare, but I just went to the north west cave where they're supposed to be very common and didn't see a single one, so at this point I'm positive it's a bug. Is there any fix for this? it's getting to the point where I might just have to download a mod for transferring tributes

Edit: Never mind, I went back in and found ONE, I still need eight more to fight the alpha megapithecus, at this rate I'll still be farming by this time next year

They are inactive during the day and usually i find them on the ceilings of caves.

Something you can try is to use a rare flower when your in the cave, this will bring all the boys to your yard! :D

Another thing to do for mega toxin if you have access to multiple maps is to tame a breeding pair on CI or Extinction where they are common, then bring them to island and breed for your tributes.

Every baby born has 2 toxin, i have a set of Megas that give me 10 at a time.

Could make a farm on Rag and transfer items in the Obs, on the northern side along the coast just past the volcano there is a large pack of Megalania's roaming around.

I never knew you could do that, I was planning on breeding them anyway at some point because I wanted to get mutations, that helps out a ton
