SOLVED: "plugin 'VivoxCore' failed to load because module 'VivoxCore' could not be found. Please ensure the plugin is properly installed, otherwise consider disabling the plugin for this project."
this works on a windows 10 64 bit operating system.

WARNING: if you do not know how to navigate drive/folder structures, use basic copy and paste functions, make basic use of links and downloads, and/or do not know what cmd is, and the difference between a standalone version vs the steam version, then with respect you should not be hosting a server because you lack the required basic knowledge to run one. I would advise you learn more about server hosting first or risk confusing your own self.

moving forward....

READ VERY CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER:

STEP 1) download steamcmd from here: https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/client/installer/steamcmd.zip

just copy and paste that link to a new tab in your web browser and it should download.

STEP 2)extract and run steamcmd.

DO NOT CLICK WITH YOUR MOUSE IN THE STEAMCMD WINDOW!

if you do you may experience issues with reading what it says and will have to close it down and reopen it and redo any steps after this one.

STEP 3) MAKE SURE YOUR DRIVE HAS AT LEAST 15GB OF FREE SPACE FOR THIS TO WORK PROPERLY.

copy and paste the line below this one into steamcmd:

login anonymous

press enter and wait for it to say okay.

create a folder somewhere on a drive and name it whatever you want.

CHANGE WHAT I PUT IN QUOTES below these 3 sentences to the letter of your drive and name of your folder. make sure you spell it exactly right. it must be exactly capitalization included as you put it.

force_install_dir "D:\CMDTemp"

once you have done that copy the line above this sentence and paste it into your steamcmd.

press enter. this will create the location for you to install a standalone ark server.

STEP 4) copy and paste the following line into your steamcmd:

app_update 376030 validate

DO NOT CHANGE THE NUMBER TO 346110 THAT WILL RECREATE THE ISSUE.

press enter and wait x amount of time depending on how fast your internet speed is as well as how fast your write speed is on your hdd/ssd

when it is finished type in exit into your steamcmd to close the window.

STEP 5) in the folder you install this standalone server go into ShooterGame/Binaries/Win64

Note: remember i am a win64 user so i have not tested this on a linux

once inside your Win64 folder copy this file ShooterGameServer.exe

STEP 6) go to where you keep your .bat file that you used to run your ark server before the wildcard update that screwed everything up and paste it there.

yes you want to replace the file for it doesn't work any way.

SUMMARY:

IF YOU FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS CORRECTLY and run a windows 10 64 bit operating system you will be able to start your server the way you usually do. no need to do what others may have said and move all your files to the standalone installation.

i literally did everything i told you to do just this morning and copied and pasted the ShooterGameServer.exe to where my .bat file is and now everything is running fine.

if you do not own a windows 10 then i do not know the solution for you. i had to figure this out on my own. that is what it means to host servers. YOU are responsible for finding ways to make it work and for any maintence.

have a good day.

And why dance with a tambourine that the ass is on fire?., You can wait for the correction, there are many good games to spend time.

I also confirm that the method works, I started the server and the game without any problems. Thank you, kind person, for a detailed explanation, even I, who is not an expert in these matters, managed to do everything. By the way, the SteamCMD application did not even have to be downloaded, it was already in the client's files for some reason.

Under the plugins section of the ShooterGame.uproject file, you can disable VivoxCore.

{
"Name": "VivoxCore",
"Enabled": false
}

This allows my dedicated server to boot up without any issue. 336.24 shows as the version.

However, none of the clients can see the server in the list. 678.7 shows as the latest client version.

This seems like something they should have corrected within 1-2 days. What's the deal?

This link was the first one I know of to post the SteamCMD workaround.

It seems to me that the only problem here is a version mismatch between the ShooterGameServer.exe and the clients.

Embarrassing.

Nevertheless, 3 days have already passed and there is no fix for this, I am disappointed with their work.

with respect, welcome to the world of modern gaming. from my personal experience with modern games its all about money. the creators are more concerned about their bank accounts then they are with their creations. they may act like they care but its just a front.

I am a 30 year man. I remember when games were actually made from the heart. I remember when games were just released and not messed with after that. I miss that peace of mind. this new trend of lets release a game that is not finished so that we get feedback and make it even better does more harm then good. ark is proof of that.

all these modders make beautiful mods just to have them broken because wildcard wont leave their game alone. I like all the content they added up to gen 2 don't get me wrong but constant updates make me worried about when their next update gonna come out and break something. in this case they broken their own unofficial dedicated server hosting system thru steam and now we have to go thru hassle of a standalone just to fix what they broke.

back in my day you never had this problem. all you had to do was buy a game and you either liked or you didnt. I personally think that is still the way it should be. seeing what happened 3 days ago is all the more reason i feel that way. they should take the time to actually make a game before releasing it and then they should leave it alone so players can play with peace of mind knowing their hours of work wont be tampered with because an update comes out and changes something.

be well readers of my post. and your welcome to all that i have helped both now and in the future.

Agreed.

They have to know what is happening in the community right now with everyone's server.

Have they made any comment on it?
