Invisible wall boundary
This just happened today, I was flying a flyer bird trying to get up high to look down on Crystal Island, hit the invisible wall boundary in the sky, got bumped off looked up to call them and they were stuck. When I got back up on another flyer they where no where to be found. Has this happened to anyone? I have been playing a long time and lost flyers but not like this. I always find them in the sky or on near by land. I was over water, so I did not die.

had it happen once.. your critter got despawned. no death log. just poof, gone. if it bothers you and you feel cheated just spawn in another one

If they dino was not automatically teleported back to your base, then the game most likely purged it. Going out of the boundaries of the map or under the mesh has usually a 1 time free pass to port you and your dino back around your spawn point. Otherwise, the game purges you/it.

It was a measure put into place to essentially combat players cheating on official forums(especially in pvp) by hiding bases under the mesh or out of the bounds of the map to protect them from raiding.

In single player or on one's own server, it is possible to turn off the antimeshing but you have to delve into the game's ini files to do it.

@retsam1 Does purged out, mean if it happens again I could get kicked for good or just have to restart that session? Sorry this is another question.

He just means it got delete. Nothing happens to you, except maybe your character getting poofed too, but all it does is kill you and deletes your inventory it doesnt delete your character. Unless you are trying to something malicious you wont get banned for it. Lag kills people and tames in the sky box all of the time.

By purged, yes as Ser said I mean that the dinos get deleted(and items they had on them) and your character gets stripped of all its gear items etc.

And yes as ser also said on official servers if it happens too frequently it could potentially get a steam account banning via their system (and thus banned from battle eye using servers be it official or unofficial. It doesnt seem like your situation is involving official servers so that would not be a worry.

Also if you are on an unofficial server or single player and your character's items get purged in this manner, they're not recoverable via most death recovery mods(mods that let you do an action to get your stuff back even if not close to your corpse.)
