Otter Disapearing
I've had 3 otters now that have all disappeared. Most recently, I seemed to notice that after I logged off with him on my shoulder, he wasn't there when i logged back on. Is this a bug? A feature? Moving forward, it seems it would be best to ensure there are no pets on my shoulder when I log off. Any advice on how to get the otters back?

Did you remove them over a foundation? Maybe they sunk into it? They shouldn't disapear, never heard of that happening before.

I did remove it over a foundation, but he doesn't seem to be under it. I will destroy it and see what I find. Also, No sign of death in the tribe logs either.

Check to see if shoulder pets are following a dino that you have ridden. Sometimes their follow will automatically set to the dino you are riding while they are on your shoulder. When you log out and they aren't technically on your shoulder they will take off for that dino.

Good ieaa- He wasn't set to follow, but i checked around all over (this session, I stayed exclusively at my base/pen) and he doesn't seem to be around. I even pressed K to search underground and under foundations and such to see if he ended up there. Is it possible he fell 'under' the map?

Lol, with ark, I'd say anything is possible. There are so many strange happenings that it would be impossible to list them all. I don't know if you are in single player, but it has lots of bugs to work around.

I have my own server through Nitrado, it's just me and a handful of my friends. No one else has been on today, so no one could have stolen/killed the otter lol but yeah, it IS Ark, and it has it's issues, so it may just be one of those things.

1. You can put a transponder on your otter and search for it in the future if you lose it.

2. You can alternatively use modded content like dino tracker, awesome teleporter(has a teleport to you transponder feature for tames), etc.

3. Remember to log out with the otter not on your shoulder.

If you do not see anything death message in the tribe log, its possible when you logged out and ragdolled to the ground that the otter went under the mesh and the game purged it. YOu can opt to turn off the anti meshing stuff in ini files but that will not necessarily guarantee you get it back in the future though.
