Essentially, if you feel that you need to play on one of the very small number of servers (yes small numbers) that use such and cannot do your own due diligence to locate the other 50,000+ unofficial servers out there which do not use such things and match you better, then this is a user end issue.
I had a nice few months on a server that did that, earlier this year, and it worked very well. It was my first experience with a shop in Ark and I was impressed. Nothing was OP or "pay to win", just more for convenience, and there were no restrictions on what you could tame or what/where you could build anyway. Let me clarify that the server didn't use real cash and what you spent was points awarded for time played. It certainly didn't ruin MY game. :D The OP just likes the sound of his/her own voice.
Absolute rubbish. We all interacted just fine and dropped off stuff we had surpluses of, gave players dinos, etc., as well as voice-chatting and helping with building projects and difficult tames. Being able to buy low to medium level items in the shop isn't going to kill interaction. :D
50k servers, 75k playing, Enjoy the 49900 near empty servers while 80 of the 100 servers with more than 10 people all use the shop thing. I dont mind the shop thing, but servers like Ark Elite have turned it to pay 2 win, so casual players looking for fun pvp just get wiped by cash cow streamers. But I fixed my issue, I took an Arkcation, and am enjoying other things until the next dlc comes out.
Erroneous assumptions based on thinking server numbers and player concurrency are static. They're dynamic and depending on the servers(and let's not forget them as clusters too), that peak times for players depend on region, time zone, and the plans of those communities.
Around 40-45% of the 50k unofficial servers out there are pvp(and pvpve too lets remember). Only a small minority of those servers/clusters use that. If someone wishes to marginalize themselves on such servers that use that, that's their user end issues. Plenty of servers out there with good community centric play that don't use that stuff. No need to be so silly.
