They were always going to get rid of the servers. That was a guarantee. That they stayed up, as a free service, as long as they did was the surprising thing.
That they flipped on the freebie was BS though... They should have just kept their mouth shut until they knew for certain.

Yeah when Ark 2 came out, not when this PoS remake of Ark 1 came out. Stop defending this crap devs horrible decisions them shutting down the servers for the original Ark forced people who wanted to play on them to purchase basically the same game they already had purchased. I tried Assended when it was on Gamepass and it was buggy as hell and the graphics were NOT an improvement.

Is Ark 2 a sequel or is it just a re-release at full price. Been hearing some things...

Also will it be/ is it cross platform?

And game play: will older game mechanics that boost speed stat be implemented/ where should I look for info on how devs are improving the game / ironing out bugs vs being a Bathesda doppelganger.

Ark 2 and Ark Ascended are completely separate games.
Ascended is the remaster of Evolved.

If you can't find an answer by Googling it, it's likely not been announced yet. But since ASA is cross platform I assume yes.

There's already been confirmation that Ark2 is not open world survival and will be Souls like combat.

I’ve lost interest in Ark at this point. Maybe, when I’m in the mood again, I’ll get ASA. As long as these people don’t call me a tard’ or something like that.

I bought this game years ago, and played for a good while. does survival evolved still have online servers? was thinking about redownloading it, but says it requires 250GB space. or would i have to invest in the newer game?

1. This is the mega thread for ark 2 (which due to the fiscal accountability issues of Snail Games/Wildcard isnt happening for the foreseeable future as they're desperate to get Ark ascended's revenue better to stay afloat) so nothing to do with that.

2. Use the battlemetrics website and you can see over 30,000+ unofficial servers active. Wildcard though shut down the 1600ish official servers back in September of 2023 when they wanted to try to influence people to buy Ark Ascended(which hasnt worked as they'd hoped).

So yes, plenty of servers. Find what best matches you.
