Best way to get a good crossbow blueprint?

I prefer using tranq arrows over darts any day of the week, but for whatever reason I can't seem to find even a primitive crossbow blueprint to save my life, I just lost a pretty good crossbow to a cave, and getting a new one every time is starting to get on my nerves, so what's the best way to find high level blueprint, is there any place in particular, or is it just a matter of luck?

If you are playing in single player, you have the option of turning up the loot quality of crates for one. I believe its possible to get from blue beacons or higher but it may be from purple or higher.... cant remember its full loot tables).

Alternatively you can also use modded content like the upgrade station to improve on primitive ones and make blueprints of the improved quality ones.

Getting a good BP for a crossbow is like you guessed, totally based on luck.

If you are capable of defeating alpha creatures easily, you can get a replacement from them.
Alpha Raptors/Carnos/Rexes have a pretty small lootpool and regularly drop journeyman and mastercraft equipment.

There is no best way of getting high quality BP, because everything is totally random.

You can check the loot table online and find which type of drop gives you a higher chance.

And it also depends on which map you are on (like rag dungeons and extinction are good for loots), and the quality setting you're using.
