Does clothing help if you're still freezing?
So, let's say you're freezing. Your health goes down. If you throw some fur on (or any armor that increases your temp or whatever), is the health drain less because you aren't freezing as much? Or is it the same no matter what?

Yes. when you're freezing you lose health based on "how cold you are". The colder the environment, the more damage you take. The best example is on Ragnarok you can die in seconds in murder murder snow because it's so cold where as on the island you wont die as fast just for standing in the tundra while freezing.

You can somewhat tell by if your HP is flashing or not. If it flashes, then you're taking a lot of damage and NEED to find warmth ASAP.

decent fur armor should stop you from freezing entirely therefor removing the health drain.

my advice would be to tame an otter and keep it on your shoulders. it will stop you from freezing to death in even the coldest environments

The better the fur armor quality the better the protection from the cold. Ascendant fur armor will allow you to survivr the coldest regions on ragnarok. And ghilie armor protects you from the heat.

What everyone said and also how much fortitude you have effects it too.

Please don't underestimate the otter, on ragnarok it's a game changer.
Level damage to increase insulation from heat+cold.
