How to remove player levels?

I wan to remove players level/xp to reset my character back to lvl 1.

1. Mindwipe tonic does NOT do what I want to do.
2. Creating a new survivor does NOT do what I want to do.

I've read that you can drink a mindwipe, then set a level cap on the server and this would remove all xp above the level cap from your character. Then remove the level cap and you would be able to gain xp/lvl up as if it was a new survivor.
However if I do this with a character that was lets say lvl 10 and drank mindwipe. After setting the xp cap, it would still have 300 or whatever exp and keept gaining more exp.
Then I created a new survivor to test the level cap. But my survivor kept gaining exp and levels past 5xp/lvl2. Which would mean that the level cap does not work at all
Does anyone know if this is yet another Ark bug and how to fix this?

Another option that someone suggested was to set the server to hardcore, die, log out, turn off hardcore and supposedly this would reset your character to lvl 1. In reality this just delets your character and creates a new surivor in its stead. So not an option either.

There seem to be no level/xp reduction command either. At least I couldn't find any.

Does anyone know if there is a mod that would do this? I tried looking, but the workshop is such a steaming pile of garbage that finding anything in there is nearly impossible.

Quick thought that might not work.

There is an admin/cheat command to give you experience points. May using a negative number would reduce experience by that amount?

what exactly are you trying to achieve?


if you want to set your character to lvl1 AND keep control of your stuff(dinos and buildings etc)
you could simply create a new character and use admin commands to take control of the things you want back... just a thought

I was trying to keep everything associated with the survivor, including things like ascensions and tekgrams. In the end I found out that you can add everything I wanted with console commands. It still sucks and I hate it. But I can't find a different solution.

Because I'm not gonna sit there counting XP to figure out when I can add another level. Beside the giant disgusting text at the top of the screen, screaming at me that I have level availible is not ideal. Who even designed that monstrosity and thought it was a good idea?
