Roaming Giga?

Hi!
I'm currently playing Genesis 2 (single player) and I'm hunting for a Giga. It's my first real attempt to tame one. Reading guides and picking up tips and tricks along the way.

I did manage to find one in the lower right part of the map. I died at first but got back fast, only for it lose aggro and run away. I tried searching for a while but gave up, trying for a new spot.

So my question is, how far do they roam from their spawning point?
Do they spawn more than one?

I’m pretty sure any Dino can roam a pretty good distance from where it originally spawned. And yes, more then one giga can spawn. Not sure the exact number for any other map but in Gen 2 there’s usually about 3-4 Gigas at one time.

Do not waste time taming without a trap, it will lose torpitity so fast, and will often run and come back. Miss 1 shot and that is enough to hamper your progress. 3 metal gates in a fat U, large bear trap in the middle (use 2 large bear traps if your afraid it will break out too quick), and then have it chase into the U hit the bear trap, and then you run around FAST and put down last metal gate (making total used 4) and lock it in. Then tranq away friend.
P.S. if not on fast tame settings, then bring lots of narcotics to keep it down after tranq

Best way to tame anything without putting yourself at any risk is to grab an argy, and pick up a parasaur. It will follow that parasaur to the ends of the earth. Works for any aggressive dinos.
Use this method to lead things in traps.
