Is it possible to get a 224 tamed hesperornis?

It's possible, just not likely with a level 150 cap and the fact that: they have a weird way of taming, by giving it fish, by feeding it the right formula you should be able to do so, and even still if you are a few odds away, there's always mutation stacking which adds in 2-4 levels per mutation!

I'm attempting to get a top level perfect tame pair of all tameables and this pair is going quite poorly so far. Mutations isn't ideal cuz cheating. I've mods galore and I say cheating. Cloned bunch of 1.7 sabertooth salmon to slaughter but couldn't get the prompts to feed so I moved to piranha and at half way tamed its 85 percent eff. Seems impossibleso far

That's strange. salmon should be working for it, you mentioned youre using mods so I wonder if that has a possible effect on it.

From what I understand, you can use an icthyornis to kill fish and use their bodies for hesperornis, I'm pretty sure it increases taming effectiveness by quite a bit. You might have to look into that one a bit more though.

i managed to feed one salmon off. with a great many lost to dropping them instead of feeding. too much flopping around on a dead fish

you need to use an Ichthyornis to capture the fishes you'll feed the Hesperornis.

Ichthyornis gives a buff to taming to fish it killed from your shoulder (golden glowy effect). this boost by a lot taming effectiveness (works for otter as well).
